Cognitive Dissonance (Psico4)

I would like to start doing a brief explanation of what I understand about cognitive dissonance which is for me an internal disharmony of the ideas, beliefs and emotions perceived by a person who has at the same time two thoughts that are in conflict of the same subject, topic, or by a behavior that conflict with their beliefs.

For this part of the project we have put on evidence how the theory of cognitive dissonance is applied on a tourist and how it affects on his decision to travel.  Furthermore we have tried to apply the theory to put on evidence what is the influence which cognitive dissonance have on the behavior of the costumer of a touristic place or just tourism.
I would like to explain this creating my own example of this theory which I made after read the document ‘More pins on the map’ written by the anthropologist Fabiola Manchinelli, because we truly believe that believe I could use this type of psychological theory in the example of what kind of tourist which the text represents. The text talks about the kind of tourist who prefers an organized trip than going by their own, they want to travel to get a culture acknowledgement and a long list of thoughts, but we could find the cognitive dissonance on their trip expectations and desires when they just want to speak their own language, they want to eat their own food or some food that remind them home and get a picture from a place where they only stayed a few hours. This people behaves sometimes on a way very different than their thoughts.

In conclusion, we tried to explain this point with a brief example but for me very clear respect with the theory and also relevant if someone try to understand to a client and do their best to please all the expectations about a trip or something which is offering a service or product.
