The required employee profile which
Airbnb looks it is not that simple as it seems. First of all, as we can see in
the previous post, the company hires for a seasonal period of time, which is
generally in summer and in the holidays of Christmas or other holidays. For
this type of contracts the profile that the company are looking for is young
people, foreigners which speaks many languages, students and this type of
people who are only looking for short term works. This doesn´t mean that there
are the only thing that matters to be an employee in Airbnb, the company
requires to their employees being creative, innovative, has an entrepreneur
spirit, and the most important thing, honor the values of the company to create
a positive impact in the community.
But this is not the only type of
contracts that the company make, there are the labor contracts for an
indefinite period, which includes a three-month trial period, fixed-term
contracts (an exception to the general principle that all labor contracts are
for an indefinite period, labor contracts for extraordinary/ special services
(Holidays), and the par-time labor contracts. For this type of contracts the
employee profile are not so different from the other, they require are kind of
the same.For all the employees in Airbnb it is very important to be interactive
in the team work, respect the values of the company, being an active person in
the company and the local culture.
It is important to mention that the company
requires different things for each kind of position in the company, but for
Airbnb the main imporntant thing about their employees is make them feel that
they are part of a big family where they can share ideas, being proactive and
feel comfortable, and also being polite and thoughtful with the community,
because Airbnb work with people for the people.
